A.K.T on his affection towards his children. The first affidavit is presented by the father’s housekeeper. She has been hired by the father in 2005 with the court stating “...the father makes the children his primary focus…’I have seen very active, normal children…who are fully involved with their father’” (5). The maid has witnessed the father having a loving relationship with his children for almost 5 years. Her statements show how Mr. A.K.T and his children show mutual affection towards each other in a healthy lifestyle. The children are displayed to show they have had positive experiences with their father. With her testimony, a lighter side of their relationship can be displayed instead of painting a negative picture of the father. Another statement on Mr. A.K.T behalf was by another former employee who tended to stay with the father and children throughout a week in July of 2008. The court has his statement on record saying “’I had the fortune of witnessing a lot of positive interaction between [the father] and his children…Everyone was really happy…’” (5). Dr. Hindmarch states the children have been called “fat and lazy” with their father showing “distinct lack of enthusiasm” for the procedure (4). Both statements show how the children have no interest being left in the care of someone who will call them names or in the hands of someone who doesn’t care in seeing them. Kids at such a young age should not have to deal with a disruptive father. Having the father act this way likely caused the children no desire to see him. Insults like “fat and lazy” may have been vital for the court from enforcing the children to see their father because the insults can affect a child’s self-esteem and body image at such a young age, putting the best interests of the children in jeopardy. Later in 2008, there was another incident that is brought up that increases the negative image the children have towards their father. In May of 2008, more complaints were brought to Dr. Hindmarch’s attention. The son is reported saying “…he did not like having to visit his father without his sister being present” (5). A number of issues can explain the possibilities in why the son does not want to be alone with his father. He may fear is safety is in danger, the uninterested
