Many people incorrectly assume that the right attitude is always followed by a smile. In reality, it’s often the other way around. Smiling can often turn a wrong attitude into a right one. We’ve all heard that your attitude determines your altitude in life, but the truth is there are times when it’s easy to have a bad attitude when we are experiencing difficulties or challenges.

Let’s face it! Going to an auto service center with car problems is not something most people feel good about. That’s when a professional Service Department employee or a great Service Advisor can make a real difference with a simple smile, a friendly manner and a little empathy. We’ve all been there at one time or another so it’s not so difficult to see when someone else is having a problem.

You never know what someone might be going through when they first drive into your service line. But whatever it is, seeing a smiling face looking back in their direction is sometimes all it takes to lighten the load and remind them that the people who work there are there to help. Just knowing that you are not alone and someone is ready to help you can lift the clouds and change the way you look at things.
