In an education system opportunity for everyone is vital for a successful system. In Renaissance England most girls, poor, and different kinds of race were not able to go to school. In the US education is made available to everyone of all genders, race, ages, and money issues. “Writer's Guide to Everyday Life in Renaissance England from 1485-1649” states,“Girls were often taught to read but not write” (Emerson 174). This may be a start to learning, but do not get the full freedom of everyday life that 21 century people have. US education is equal and beneficial for all The Department of Education says, “Strengthening the federal commitment to ensuring access to equal educational opportunity for every individual” (“U.S. Department of Education). This shows that US education is better in a way because it allows, and gives equal opportunity to every individual to pursue their educational studies. In the US, people can get a degree in a specific subject to a definite degree of learning. “[United States] Students often begin post-secondary learning, or higher education. The first level of higher education is undergraduate study” (International Student USA Education System). This shows that universities offer a vast majority of classes to an extent to learning. This was different from people in the England Renaissance whose studies were very limited to topics to get a degree of sort. In the book, “Writer's Guide to Everyday Life in Renaissance England from 1485-1649”, it notes, “Most begin their university studies between ages of fifteen and eighteen. The idea of a grand tour was to finish off a young gentleman’s education” (Emerson 178-179). Even though they had universites, theirs did not contain a vast area of subjects as our modern day education structure does. The average person went to the universities for only two years. In present day the US doesn't have an exact “Grand tour”. Instead, modern day education can become more precise in what you want to study by getting degrees.
