Amazon is one of the worlds largest companies worth over 292.6 billion. This company has simplified shopping and turned the convenience of shopping online and getting the items in two days or less. Amazon is not only a website. Amazon has expanded into new forms of customer-based products and markets. Amazon main market comes from digital books, Prime music, games, and Prime movies. If fact Amazon started selling book and Kindles when they first opened. Once the popularity grew so did there market segment and product line, from tablets to smart phones. During its years growing it demolished other online competitors and effected local giants such as Wal-Mart and Target. In America Amazon does mostly Internet promotions and word of mouth. Amazon has rarely done TV commercials but not as frequently at Jet.com a competitor. According to marketing management” Social media have dramatically changed the way companies approach customer loyalty”(pg28). Amazon has taken advantage of this by adverting on all major platforms Facebook, Twitter as well as owning its own page to make customer feel closer to the company. From personal experience l found out about Amazon through the shipping boxes the customers items come in. The Amazon box’s are very distinct they come we a big smile on the boxes sides with black tape with yellow words Amazon, covering the main flaps of the box this is what caught my attention. I started seeing the boxes everywhere in UPS hands on people’s doorways. That why I decide to look into it. However Amazon market strategy is different in every country for example. In India Amazon did not market via the web or TV it relies on word of mouth. This is not working. Just becase Amazon took of throw word of moth in Amaerica does not mean its will do the same in india. Marketing 91 feels Amazon needs to start promoting in other ways because “because the traffic of Amazon is being taken over fast by Flipkart”(pg1). According to Amazon there mission statement is “To be Earth’s most customer-centric company, where customers can find and discover anything they might want to buy online, and endeavors to offer its customers the lowest possible prices,”(marketing91) Amazon has stuck with this motto to make sure customer service is there number one most important thing. Amazon customer service to the customers has helped them get to where they are today . Brand loyalty is the reason why customers keep coming back. 55% of Amazon members are returning customers. Lets face it when something happens to an order of yours the last thing you want to deal, with is the company giving you the run around. When you deal with Amazon the frustration and anxiety is not there. Amazon uses an A-Z agreement meaning everything is covered if it’s a defected item or if you just don’t like it. Other companies that have not taken this approach end up closing there doors to .According to Marketing 91 “companies such as Indiaplaza and Allshcoolstuff were forced to close due to the lack of trust when buying goods online.” Amazon has gained the trust of the customers by standing by there products and services.
