Amandeep’s life began in Talwandi Dorgan, District Amritsar, State Punjab and Country India on the 1st Of January 1978, when she was born to Parents Sukhdev Singh and Darshana Kaur. She was the second daughter of Sukhdev and Darshana after Kawal Kaur and their last children were Navdeep Singh. At the time of her birth Talwandi Dorgan was not a developed village when Aman was born, but now in 2017 it's been developed at it is now like a town. It has many shops for food, clothes, schools, hospitals etc. The houses weren’t that big, but they also weren’t small, they included 2 bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and lots of outside space(Kaur,2017).

She got married to Harpreet Singh in 2000, and after getting married Aman and her husband decided to move to Australia. In India, they lived in a house with about 7 rooms as the family was quite big and consisted of about 15 people. Amandeep studied Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education and after finishing her studies she worked as a teacher. After some time of working as a maths teacher, she decided to study Masters of Economics. She had to catch the train to get to The University, they didn’t own a car but had a motorbike. Aman couldn’t drive the motorbike, and her husband couldn’t drop her there because he worked on the farm from the morning till late at night. As well as studying and looking after her children, Aman also had to do house chores like milking the cows, washing the dishes, cleaning the house, washing clothes as they didn’t have washing machines back in those days, cooking food etc. Aman’s part time job was tutoring children after school, as well tutoring other children she also tutored her brother in-law’s children. There were many wedding and festival held in the village, where everyone dressed up, danced and ate traditional
