Albert Fish: Cannibal Serial Killer

Hamilton “Albert” Fish was a cannibalistic serial killer that lived from 1870 to 1936. He was a sadomasochist and suffered from mental disorders that weren’t properly diagnosed. Fish was the youngest boy of four children and lived with his parents until the age of five. When his father died, his mother brought him to an orphanage so she could find work. This is where it is believed that his masochistic behavior began. Fish was beaten at the orphanage and this psychological trauma could be one of the reasons why he later became a killer. He liked being beaten which lead to more intense searches for pain that he found pleasurable as an adult. Fish may not have finished high school since there was no evidence found to support that he did. He also seemed to have a low IQ based on the chart in Cannibal Serial Killers. It wasn’t mentioned that he had many friends at this orphanage but he did have multiple homosexual relationships before and during his marriage. When Fish was twelve he …show more content…
He targeted young children that he could easily manipulate and strangle. The time span of his crimes was unknown. He claimed to have molested children in every state but it is unsure how many of those children he kidnapped, killed, and ate. There were two victims that he admitted to killing and they were Grace Budd who was ten years old and Billy Gaffney who was four years old. His crimes were usually not planned but they were controlled killings. He didn't know Billy Gaffney but he planned out the murder of Grace Budd. He was originally going to take her brother, since he usually targeted young boys, but met her and took Grace instead. He would take kids at an open opportunity when the parents were not around. In the case of Grace Budd, Fish manipulated the parents into letting her leave with him to go to a birthday party but there was no birthday party.. He would then strangle his victims and mutilate the bodies before he cut them up and ate

Captured in the 1930s before the words psychopath and pedophile were part of common vernacular, notorious serial killer Arnold Sodeman murdered four young girls with little thought of remorse. Without guilt, the evil serial killer strangled them to death with their own clothing and left their small bodies alone in the Australian brush, earning himself a chilling position in the annals of Australian crime. The first victim in his child murder spree, 12-year-old Mena Griffiths, showed signs of having been sexually assaulted, although the man who would become known as The School-girl Strangler denied the assault, and blamed the killing of both Griffiths and the other girls on his inability to control himself after he’d been drinking. The…

There is no denying that the United States Constitution is a living document, that is in itself the foundation by which this country is to be governed. No matter ones position on contemporary and pressing social, economic and political issues, the Constitution is the guide and standard. Unfortunately, as a living document, it is open to interpretation by those who seek to use it to suit their purpose. For example, even preceding the 21st Century, the historical document has been used as a weapon, with the user selecting the pieces that best suit their case, similar to using one verse from the bible to make a case when in reality it has been taken out of context.…

Pi would raise the hammer above his head, but his hand would remain motionless in the air. Overcome with emotion, Pi said, “The idea of beating a soft, living head with a hammer was simply too much” (181). After Pi reconsidered the situation and weighed his values against survival, he knew what he had to do. Rather than using the hammer, Pi decided it would be more human if he quickly broke the fish’s neck.…

The fish and its life, which is consistently mentioned throughout the story, is a representation of the family’s unity. The narrator first mentions the fish in a flashback at around the same time that she is reflecting back on her memories of her father and their daily routine. The father is the one who brings in the live fish and dumps it in the sink. This is notable because at this point in the narrative, the family is still seen as a cohesive unit and this parallels with how the fish is still alive. The next point in the narrative where the fish is mentioned is right after certain problems are shown to plague the family, such as the obvious language barrier that separates the parents from their children and the problem of the father and the brother’s conflicting attitudes towards the son’s unwillingness to keep hold of his Malaysian heritage.…
