Could Al Qaeda rise again? Al Qaeda could not rise as a single organization again. This is due to the United States, they will not let Al Qaeda become a threat to the US again. Also, they are too spread out, far and wide. It would be hard to become formalized as a centralized organization. Unless Al Qaeda partnered with ISIS, I believe the mass amounts of followers to the Islamic State would outnumber Al Qaeda. The capital needed to run a mass terrorist group is high, the number of international connections Al Qaeda has, are great but they do not have enough capital to resurrect the Old Al Qaeda Terrorist organization. Nearly a 10 years of war, and Al Qaeda may be silent and not a terror threat but Al Qaeda is stronger today than when it carried out the 9/11 attacks. Before 2001, Al Qaeda’s history was marked up with failed attempts to achieve its most prized goal: the spread of the Al Qaeda ideology and the unification of Islamic people. On September 11th, 2001, the world and the war on Terror changed, Al Qaeda the leading cause at the time, has since gone quiet from terror after the assassination of Osama Bin Laden, their leader and founder. Bin Laden’s successor Ayman al-Zawahiri has moved the organization into smaller groups, obtaining more mass and creating more chaos by fighting for control in the middle east and northern Africa.
