It is important that in any service supporting individuals with additional support needs that a quality service is provided to meet their needs. In order for this to be achieved all team members must work together effectively. The following report will demonstrate knowledge of how this can be achieved by detailing effective leadership styles and theories on motivating the staff team and the importance of communicating and collaborating well together in order to achieve positive quality assured outcomes.
Motivation of staff In order to meet the needs of individuals with additional support needs and ensure the service providing support to them is of good quality it is important to ensure that staff are well equipped and motivated to perform within their work roles. My work placement is within an ASN educational environment supporting individuals with a variety of complex needs. When working within this type of environment it is important that staff are motivated in order to promote the quality of their work practice and to personally develop their skills and sense of achievement. To achieve this staff must have access to training opportunities with regular supervision and positive feedback by their Team Leader. Working with the range of support needs within the school environment requires staff to communicate any changes that may occur. Staff that feel they are listened to feel valued within their team.
