“In 2011, 1.6 million abortions were performed” (Guttmacher Institute, 2014). That means that 1.6 million innocent lives were taken away without a chance to speak for themselves. These babies could have been the next Albert Einstein, the one to create a cure for cancer, or something far beyond anyone’s imagination. In the United States, innocent lives are being taken away every single day. Abortions are unethical, cause psychological issues to mothers that can affect them for the rest of their lives, and deny the rights of human beings. Abortions are unethical because of the many methods used to terminate the baby. One of these methods is the aspiration method, it can be used anywhere from five to sixteen weeks of pregnancy. In this method, a tube is placed in the uterus and it is connected to a vacuum. This vacuum tears away the fetus and pregnancy tissue that has been formed inside the uterus until it has been completely removed. This will kill everything living in the uterus and end the life of the baby immediately. The procedure used for late-term abortions is the dilation and extraction method. During this method, the cervix is medically dilated to perform the procedure.
