Patrick Jackson (communications theory) 5 step process
1. Building awareness- build awareness through all communications such as publicity, to advertising, to public speaking to word of mouth.

2. Developing a latent readiness- people form an opinion based on knowledge, emotion, intuition, memory, and relationships.

3. Triggering event - something that makes you want to change your behavior.

4. Intermediate behavior - when someone determines how to apply a desired behavior.

5. Behavioral change - the adoption of new behavior.
