is a sociological theory that attempts to explain why society functions the way it does by focusing on the relationships between the various social institutions that make up society (e.g., government, law, education, religion, etc). In Animal Farm the following statements are examples of structural functionalism. First, the boar considers the ordinances of their society are governed by the tyrant humans. Second, the established system is designed to keep the animals in slavery. Lastly, this system enables humans to always be on the receiving end.

Here is an example of social conflict in Animal Farm.

In Animal Farm, the following are examples of social conflict. First, the boar acknowledges the fact that man is the only creature that consumes and does not produce. Secondly, the boar claims humans to be the main reason for all of their struggles. Lastly, he declares that if they kill humans, then that would be the end to their struggles.

The view of social behavior that emphasizes linguistic or gestural communication and its subjective understanding, especially the role of language in the formation of the child as a social being.

In Animal farm the following are examples of symbolic interaction. First, the animals voted on certain issues, to come to a resolution. Secondly, After the hoisting of the flag all the animals trooped into the big barn for a general assembly which was known as the Meeting. Lastly, the animals debated certain issues before they came to voting, and resolving the issues.

In Animal Farm I found the following examples of culture. First, all of the animals congregated to hear an important message from one animal. Second, they waited to speak on this message until after their master had already gone asleep. Lastly, they sat in a specific arrangement that revealed that certain groups were expected to sit closest to the speaker.

In Animal Farm I found the following examples of society. First, the boar acknowledges that the animals are apart of a society that is miserable, laborious, and a short lived life. Second, the boar expresses that after age one, none of the animals know what it means to be happy. Lastly, in the animal society the boar says that the plain truth is that their life is misery and slavery.

The following statements represent socialization displayed in the context of the book Animal Farm. First, the boar asked the farm animals were the rats apart of their social group. Secondly, the majority of the animals voted the rats as members of their social group. Lastly, the boar determined that whatever walks on two legs are enemies.

Behavior and appearances that follow and maintain the standards of a group; also the acceptance of cultural goals and the pursuit of those goals through means defined as legitimate.

The following are examples for conformity from the book Animal Farms. First, the boar explained that the cows milk intended to be nourishment for calves, is being used to feed the their enemies. Secondly, the eggs that the hens lay are not used for the animals, instead it's being used to bring financial prosperity to the humans. Lastly, instead of the mothers being able to keep their young, they are sold almost immediately. The animals have conformed to the ways of the humans, at the expense of their quality of life.

Any behavior or physical appearance that is socially challenged or condemned because it departs from the norms and expectations of the groups.

In Animal Farm the following are examples of deviance. The boar devised a plan to kill the humans to enable the animals to become instantly rich and free. Secondly, the boar instructed them to never listen to humans when humans tell them that man and animals have a common interest. Lastly, one of the cows broke in the door of the store-shed with her horn and all the animals began to help themselves from the bins.

The following are examples of social control from the book Animal Farm. First, the work of teaching and organising the others fell naturally upon the pigs, who were generally recognised as being the cleverest of the animals.Secondly, the animals came up with the Seven Commandments to maintain order within their society. Lastly, the pigs did not actually work, but directed and supervised the others.

In Animal Farm the following is an example of inequality.

First, the boar stated, "In return for your four confinements and all your labour in the fields, what have you ever had except your bare rations and a stall?" Secondly, the boar stated, "And even the miserable lives we lead are not allowed to reach their natural span

Lastly, the circumstances that they are in lie solely in the fact that they are animals, and are mistreated, according to the boar.

Firstly, The animals saw no reason to disbelieve him, especially as they could no longer remember very clearly what conditions had been like before the Rebellion. Secondly, These three had elaborated old Major's teachings into a complete system of thought, to which they gave the name of Animalism. Lastly, It was given out that the animals there practised cannibalism, tortured one another with red-hot horseshoes, and had their females in common.
