The first part of this construction is a ば-conditional form and the second part is a short form of verbs and い-adjectives. When noun-だ or な-adjectives occur, であれば is used. |

This is a form derived from the classical auxiliary verb べし. It follows the short present form of verbs and carries the meaning 'one should do~.' When the verb isする, bothすべき and するべきare used. The negative form of べき is V(short)べきではない rather than ないべきだ. |
