Hardwares are things that you can see and touch while softwares are instructions that tell the hardwares what to do. Without the hardwares, the softwares are useless

Whats a central processing unit?
A device that carries out software instructions. They are plugged into the motherboard and have a large fan attached to keep them cool.
What is the main memory?
Any data or instructions that are to be processed by the CPU must be placed into main memory
What is a Random Access Memory (RAM)?
The part of the computer that temporarily stores the instructions that the computer is running, and the data it is processing. It is volatile, so when the computer shuts down all the data is lost.
What is a Read-only Memory (ROM)?
The software checks the computer’s hardware and then loads the operating system. It is non volatile, the data it contains is never lost.
What is a Graphical User Interface (GUI)?
An interface built around visual things. Windows are regions of the screen used to display information
Icons are small pictures that are used to represent folders, software, etc.
Menus are lists of options the user can select from
