Summer cold brought on by heat. Head hot. 1st copious fluid from nose w/itchy, red-rimmed eyes. Later eyes dry up & burn, nose has dry scabs of catarrh and chest feels heavy. At night there is such burning in the hands & feet.
Sulphur
Cold starts w/ a tingling in the nose & much sneezing follows w/ fluid discharge. Later head feels heavy& pain like a tight band is increased if the head is low. AS the coryza dries the patient becomes dopey and flushed as if intoxicated. There is some relief from the head symptoms on urinating.
Gelsemium
Weather has been very wet for weeks and now cough starts. First it is dry and throat tickles. The it becomes spasmodic as he tries to get up some tenacious mucus. Cough becomes looser as yellow phlegm becomes more copious. Now head is affected. It feels full and each time he coughs it feels as if it would explode. Drinks copious amts of water.
Bryonia.
Anxious after overhearing conversation about her performance. Now glands are swollen and throat is tight so it is difficult to swallow. Slightest touch is very painful yet she eats without problem. Feels something is lodged in her throat.
Lachesis
In wet weather glands swell then considerable amt of catarrh is produced. This thickens and becomes green--loses her sense of smell and taste. Ears are affected there is a loss of hearing on left side which can disappear with popping noise.
