1. Introduction

The purpose of my report is to evaluate the interrelationship between human resource management, organisations and their environment. This report will examine the issue of how human resource teams are unable to function normally and work as a team to get the best possible results. I have chosen ANZ Bank as the organisation. ANZ specialises in understanding customers specific financial needs, the bank has a variety of services such as cash management, lending, investment and specialist services. ANZ bank is a large organisation in New Zealand and Australia with many branches throughout both of these countries. The trend identified in the news article is about how to build the perfect human resource team. This trend will affect

The trend is internal to ANZ as it needs to be resolved with the managers and people inside the business.ANZ need to look at how they can create a human resource team that can work together so that they can achieve the best outcomes within the organisation. Staffing shortage could occur if ANZ find the best applicants for the human resource team, or staff could be moved to a different section of ANZ where they would feel more comfortable with the job. Strategic human resource planning would need to take place to deal with the trend. The right people with the right skills at the right time (hrcouncil.ca para.2. ) Strategic planning is the right way to make sure the human resource team has all the right participants. This is key to ANZ so they can later predict future human resource management problems that occur in the organisation. Resources that are needed to help resolve this issue can be surveys for the human resource team. These surveys can help with any unanswered questions they have about why the team are not running as efficiently and smoothly as they should be. Academic research that supports my position as stated in CEB: 4 Ways to Improve Employees ' Work in 2016 ( 2015) Surveys can tell you how much of your workforce has these capabilities and provide a detailed picture of whether the workforce will support a given strategy. The results of the surveys can the tell you exactly what parts of the team are in need of a change. Having a perfect human resource team is relevant to all organisations. With the ideal team then projects move along faster and everything in general is more effective and efficient. A solution needed to deal with this issue is to find out from each member off the hr team why they think the team is to progressing well, the team need to work

In his Article, “WHY WE HATE HR” (Hammonds, 2005), Mr. Hammonds expresses a dislike for HR due to the lack of advancement in the field. Being at the time of writing the article the field of Human Resources was still being used by management as an administrative and disciplinary function for the corporations. Not living up to it’s corporate role and responsibility, nor it’s potential as the “key driver of business performance”. While I can agree with his viewpoint at the time of writing his article, there had been little to no change in the role of HR for over 20 years (Hammonds, 2005). It is documented that prior to the transformation of human resources, that HR staff were not viewed as people to be involved in high level strategy discussions,…

Staffing the Special Operations Command-Africa Human Resource Management is the process of acquiring, training, appraising and compensating employees, and attending to their labor relations, health, safety, and fairness concerns (Dressler, Human Resource Management 13th Edition, 2013). It is the single most important factor that will determine how, when and if the organization will meet their strategic goals. When ignored, the organizational efficiency will be reduced, and the workforce will be required to compensate for the neglected elements. However, when properly managed, the morale and productivity will be visible, and the organization will consistently achieve their objectives enroute to their strategic goals. The strength of an organization…

Since Keith H Hammonds wrote Why We Hate HR, Human Resources has adapted and changed with the growth of technology and fluctuations in demographic trends. We have moved away from “managing monetary levers” and moved our focus more towards “increasing the asset value of human capital” (Breitfelder & Wademan Dowling, 2008 Issue). In Keith’s paper, he focuses on four main points: “HR people aren’t the sharpest tacks in the box”, “HR pursues efficiency in lieu of value”, “HR isn’t working for you”, and “The corner office doesn’t get HR” (Hammonds, 2005). In my opinion, human resources now have greatly improved from what Keith experienced. Human resources are one of the fastest growing departments as it provides plenty of room for advancement, flexibility,…
