Jack Welch, an American chemical engineer, businessman, author, and former CEO of General Electric Company once said, “Good business leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision, and relentlessly drive it to completion” (Jack Welch Quotes). The words of this successful businessman are easily said, but for many, not easily achieved. There are many factors needed to be able to land a career in business administration. To be able to be successful in business administration not only do you need to be a good team leader but the knowledge and skills are needed to manage a business. According to this information, these students fit the description in type of personality needed to operate effectively in this career. It relates to characteristics such as being a leader and being able to get experience in managing a business. Your annual salary can be greater than the cost of living in some cities in California if you choose to be in this career. In Visalia its $22,703, Bakersfield is $26,997, and Modesto is $26,958. The average cost of living in California is generally $30,000 but in Fresno, CA it is about $24,734 so salary won‘t be an issue with this career path (Cost of Living). The salary range varies to the type of position you have in business administration or depending on the employer. On average, the lowest wage for business administration is a starting pay of $38,000, the median annual wage is $50,000 to $100,000, and the highest average is $129,000. However, the type of field you work in can have an impact on salary such as having a position in the state government can incur $65,000 to where universities and colleges can bring in as much as $70,000 or more.
