The argument of college athletes being paid to play should be brought to the surface. They have lots of stress from competition, practice , and classesload and to help them out a little would make sense. The coaches are getting on average $100,000 for one season alone with bonuses for being successful. And the NCAA member colleges continue to vote to forbid the sharing of money with student athletes. So they hide behind a "veil of amateurism", so they call it, that keeps the wealth of college sports in the hands of a few administrators, athletic directors, and coaches. The "veil" makes sure athletic directors and coaches keep all the wealth and also ensures poverty for many of the athletes who provide their labor. A 2011 report titled "The Price of Poverty in Big Time College Sport" confirms that 85 percent of college athletes on scholarship live below the poverty
