The Chief Executive Officer of HP is known as Leo Apotheker (Hewlett-Packard Development Company, 2011). HP is a company that manufactures and assembles personal computers, laptops, printers, and computer accessories. HP also provides software, printer and computer installation services. HP has penetrated in more than one hundred and seventy countries from different continents. It has employed approximately 304,000 workers (Hewlett-Packard Development Company, 2011). HP has been expanding globally and focuses on improving the technological skills worldwide.

HP has a strategy of collaborating with customers and outgoing companies for innovation (open innovation strategy) which they use as the pillar of their research process. They rely on expertise and graduates from the field of engineering and sciences. In its research HP has recognized leaders in technology globally from areas of nontechnology and computing to information and data management, mining of data, generators of chips, computer systems and database management. HP laboratory researchers find solutions to difficult technology related challenges, relevant to its consumers and enterprises. They carry out research on technical areas such as technological infrastructure, information overview, servicing, and product delivery.
These researchers have succeeded in coming up with the following new innovations; 3D visual devices and invention of multi-touch and gesture detector devices. Strategic making of decisions and customer engagement techniques and finally, advancing in information technology including using non-technological skills for facilitating sensing abilities.
