Why I Want To Be A Licensed Massage Therapist

When I began looking into colleges and careers in my junior year of High School, I never thought I would end up where I am currently (today). I had recognized that I wanted to help people and make a difference in others’ lives no matter what career I chose. I also was aware that I have more of a kinesthetic personality, and with this I knew I required an environment that allowed that characteristic to thrive.
The human body is an amazing, beautiful and complicated organism (Entity) that I was always curious about. There are so many different ways to heal the human body, physically, emotionally and spiritually, and I didn’t want to just heal one of these synergies, but embrace the being as a whole, with a holistic approach. This is when I decided I wanted to become a Licensed Massage Therapist.
My schooling at Morrisville State College was above and beyond what is required for an LMT in New York. From my first class, I knew that this is the type of work I belong in, my passion. A unique experience I was able to participate in was being a part of a cadaver lab class at Upstate Medical in Syracuse. Paired with other reasoning’s, I decided to go to Acupuncture at Avenue Acupuncture with Danielle Dupell, for treatment. Apart from an acupuncture session I had while studying massage, this was my first true experience. When I went to Danielle, I was very curious about the entire process, and I found myself asking many questions during my treatments. This further kindled my previous fascination with holistic medicine, and I was completely amazed by the results I experienced. Danielle was very encouraging and happy to discuss anything I wanted to know about acupuncture. She lent me books to read and let me shadow her, and that passion sparked
