Before I started this paper I came up with some assumptions. I wanted to compare and contrast what was assumed without researching the subject. I found a few assumptions that most would find or come up with. The first is, because there is evil there is no God. Could a person who has been good all their life make a mistake so despicable there is no way to correct themselves? For evil, could an evil person ever rectify their past actions and make their way in to heaven? My research pointed me in the direction of forgiveness. God will not interfere with man’s free will for the opportunity that man will choose to follow him and not evil. Nevertheless, God can forgive man for their wrong doing. Pope Francis recently said, “…In the same way, however, I can and must state that there is no sin that God’s mercy cannot reach and wipe away when it finds a repentant heart seeking to be reconciled with the Father” (CNN.com).
