Personal Essay: My Best Friend

Improved Essays
Have you had a friend that you can tell anything to with no fear of judgement, shaming or them telling anyone? Maybe a friend who will go on a road trip in the middle of the night to a fast food restaurant you thought was 24-hours only to find out it wasn’t? How about a friend who would drop everything at 1 o’clock in the morning to pick you up from a party because you thought it would be a good idea to experiment with hallucinogens? Well, I have, Seven years ago I met a crazy beautiful, outrageously smart and hilarious girl named Gabby who has become that best friend to me. Gabby is kind, highly driven, open-minded, non-judgmental, strong, and one of the most loyal and genuinely good people I have ever met. She has been there for me at my lowest point and at my …show more content…
She opens her home to anyone who needs a safe place, she opens her heart to help her loved ones, she will help everyone and anyone with their personal issues before dealing with her own inner demons, she is never cruel or judgmental, she is incredibly driven and hardworking and she will never ask for anything in return. She is currently enrolled in MCC and is trying to get into the nursing program and almost every day she studies and does homework for anywhere up to twelve hours. She is very dedicated to doing her absolute best in school rather than just skate by which is admirable to me. When we do homework together and I get distracted or am procrastinating she reminds me or helps me understand the assignment and I will do the same for her. Sometimes Gabby cannot see how wonderful and truly amazing she is and anytime she doubts herself whether is school related or a personal issue she is struggling with I am there to remind her of how awesome of a young woman she has grown to be and she does the exact same for

She is only a text, email, or phone call away when I need her. I know that she’ll always listen, because she always has. Through my parents’ divorce, through a day where I could have just run away from home and not looked back, and then even through the less serious, sometimes trivial matters, she was there for me. I asked her what her favorite part of being a small group leader is, and she replied, “Connecting with you guys, and just hearing your stories, you know? Being able to help you guys has also been pretty big.…

Long dirty blonde hair and shiny green-blue eyes, a beautiful smile to enchant anyone, a laugh to intoxicate you, and stories to keep you interested for hours on end, she is the greatest friend that anyone could really have. She’s been with me through thick and thin and if we argue, we get over it like nothing had happened. Her stubborn attitude and how she goes about daily life is what makes her and I complete opposites. Though all of these are true, they are reasons why she is both my best friend and the one person who has impacted me the most in my life.…

Friendship is something that everyone should cherish. You can’t buy or create friends because true friends can never be replaced. Julia Johanne Pollock is one of my best friends. We met in fourth grade, through a girl that I’ve known since kindergarden, and we automatically clicked. I admired her because she was her own individual and didn’t care about what anyone thought about her.…

Concerns have been raised in the 21st century about the young adult’s slowing transition into adulthood. Robin Henig discusses these concerns in her article “What is it About 20-Somethings?” by writing on the topic of emerging adulthood, a period before adulthood that sociologists believe may be a new distinct life stage. Henig addresses the idea that young people in America have put off the traditional milestones such as completing school, leaving home, becoming financially independent, marrying and having a child. More recently, technology and the use of social media have become popular and prevalent among young adults and children, a point Maria Konnikova brings up in her article “The Limits of Friendship.”…

Bryan and I were best friends. We did everything together, whether it was finishing up our Calculus homework five minutes before class started or sitting on my couch eating popcorn and watching the scariest movies we could find. Neither of us had many other friends, so it had been just the two of us all through high school. He was the first person I would go to with all of my problems, even the ones that girls would generally only share with other girls. Sometimes we would stay up for hours at a time talking about life and what it would be like to leave home and travel across the country.…

have chosen my cousin Rajvir, who I feel that personifies what it means to live in God 's image. I believe that Rajvir is a follower of God and has a positive attitude towards different situations such as when our grandpa passed away in 2001. My cousin was really close with him and shared many thoughts with him. So when my grandpa suddenly passed away from a heart attack it really did affect her, instead of keeping it in her mind and always thinking about it she decided to grieve all at once, and help her family such as her grandma, mom and aunt and uncle get through the tough time with positive messages and not try to distract them to not over think about it or to even think about it at all. My cousin is always very accepting and is not judge-full…
