As life pulls us in many different directions with work, school, and activities, it is easy to forget about what truly matters. We get so overwhelmed with filling our day with obligations that we forget to stop and ask some of life’s most basic questions. In order for us to live a meaningful life, we need to start analyzing who we are as humans and what that means for us. Although the three most basic questions of philosophy- Who am I? What am I? What am I doing here? – seem easy to answer, many people have a tough time truly interpreting these questions, since they question who you are as a person and why you believe that way. In order to live a meaningful life, we must be able to answer these three basic questions and support why we think that way. The first question of philosophy is, “Who am I?” There are certain qualities and characteristics that ensure that not one person is alike. I believe I am a result of my parent’s beliefs and teachings. Although many people prefer to think differently, the way parent’s raise their child shapes who they are as I person. They shape the way we think and behave, since they are the major care takers who give us life’s basic necessities in times that we are not capable. Thankfully, humans are capable of developing their own beliefs and thoughts. As we grow older, we come to develop our own personal morals and values. I believe values are a huge part of who I am.
