As is the case laid out in the Bhagavad Gita, discussed further in the second essay, the idea of a duty supplies an answer to almost every question, concern, and conflict that could arise during one’s life. With an internally supplied purpose there is room for conflicting viewpoints to plague and hinder the mind of the conflicted and will always leave the question of “what if?” for the rest of one’s life. It does, however, grant the individual an opportunity to help shape their own existence and can vary from a pinpoint and exact purpose to a more all-encompassing idea of what their life should work towards. If there is an exact thing that one must work towards, it supplies a justification for every one of an individual’s actions so long as it leads towards fulfilling their job. Although living with a sense of duty does take away the mind crippling issue of choice it does make cause for concern predominately where these duties come from and if individuals should have at least some say in what doctrines lead their life. With response to the question of where the duty comes from, advocates would argue that there are always some aspects of life that are unanswerable, and components that people merely have to put their faith in and trust in its involvement in the broader scopes of life.
