Korean War World War II was the biggest war in history. Most countries such as Britain, Germany, and Japan were damaged and a lot of people died in the war. Albert Einstein contended “I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones” (Goodread). After World War II, United States, the Capitalism country, and the Soviet Union, communist country, were in the Cold War which means “Ideological, political, and economic conflict in which USSR and Eastern Europe opposed the United States and Western Europe” (Cole and Symes A28). General MacArthur thought that it was important to cut supporting lines, and he recommended generals to attack Inchon, the city near the Seoul, through the ocean. Many generals opposed him because the tidal current was strong, so that they couldn’t get any support and retreated for at least 9 hours. In Inchon, North Korea predicted the movement of South Korea Army, but North Korea couldn’t prevent the ambush because most soldiers were attacking South Korea. Therefore, in September 15, 1950, the operation was successful and the North Korean Army was forced to retreat close to china.
Everyone thought the war was close to the end, but it changed after the intervention of China in October 1950. When South Korea made the counterattack against North Korea in Inchon, Chinese leaders debated about whether to send soldiers to Korea. Some people disagreed because of the size of the opposing forces. However, because of the possibility that Korea could invade China after the war, Chinese leaders decided to help North Korea.
