What Freedom Means to Me In 1492, Christopher Columbus discovered what he didn’t know to be America; the symbol of freedom. Freedom can be described differently depending on situation. Back then, freedom was escaping the British. Now, freedom is getting out of school early. Freedom to me is being able to live a normal life without unfair rules holding us back. It is the way of life because people fought for us.
