Wayne Williams was born on May 27, 1958, in Atlanta, Georgia. Wayne Bertram Williams was the key suspect for the Atlanta Child Murders. He was convicted of the killing of two men in January 1982. It was only until after his conviction that he was thought to be responsible for the deaths of more than 20 other people, these were the Atlanta Child Murders. These beliefs came from DNA evidence that suggested he was linked to the murders (Wayne Williams Biography). Wayne Williams was known as one of the most famous serial killers that are still alive. Williams was born and raised in Atlanta’s Dixie Hills neighborhood where most of the victims of the child murders would soon disappear. Wayne Williams was thinking about pursuing his career as a DJ, he controlled a radio station from his parents house and was well known for scouting local artists, mostly teenagers. Williams built a reputation in his community by making up stories about himself. He included details in those stories that would impress others, but they were too good to be true.
