Using Technology to Increase Academic Success Technology has changed the world we live in and has made a very positive impact on the way we learn, an education is just a couple of clicks away from anyone anywhere. It has made it convenient and possible for people with busy schedules, full time jobs and Military who are in different countries at any given time to earn a degree and further their education. Technology can greatly enhance academic success but it also requires self-discipline and motivation due to students having more freedom and not as much supervision from the instructors when completing assignment on line or on a computer at school. Mathematica research (2009) proved that to increase academic success it also depends greatly on the type of materials and products that are presented, they have to be used properly and instructors have to make sure they provide the right materials and products for the right type of students. There are many ways to take advantage of technology to achieve your educational goals computers, iPad’s, smart phones, video conferencing just to mention a few. Miltiadou M., savenye W.C (2003) explains that “Computers are considered one of the most important instruments for supporting the learning process” (preface). These devices give students the opportunity to stay in contact with their pears, instructors and to complete work and research where ever they go it also allows them to be more organized by keeping track of dates, deadlines and keep up with curriculums. Traditional methods of learning should be experienced and they will always be a very important and necessary part in grades K-12 once you have reached college level it can greatly vary with students depending on their background and the way they want to approach their learning goals.
