Trench foot was a major problem for several countries in the First World War, this lead to 75,000 causalities in the British army, and 2000 in American forces. Trench foot is a painful condition of the feet caused by exposure to damp, cold, unhygienic conditions. Trench soldiers in the first world war experienced trench foot where it affected approximately twenty thousand soldiers, trench foot originated in 1812 during the first world war. The key points that will be covered in this report will be why trench foot is caused, symptoms, treatment and how to prevent it happening.
