For over 150 years our society has been told about a legend, a hairy beast that has struck fear and wonderment into all who have witnessed it and to all who have heard about it. This beast is commonly known as Bigfoot, a tall hairy man or ape-like being who lurks in the woods along the Appalachian Mountains in the United States. It has been told that big foot can grow to become over eight feet tall and weigh over one thousand pounds. Some believe it is just a person in a costume but many believe that it really is Bigfoot, a live being of sorts. There have been many sightings of Bigfoot however there is no collected true and incriminating evidence that has been recorded to demonstrate Bigfoot’s authenticity as fictional or non-fictional. With the speculation surrounding this hairy phenomenon, it raises the one question, is this hairy beast real? Thus the legend continues, as the legend of Bigfoot.

There have been many attempts in trying to prove its scientific existence, as you can watch different groups on TV set up stake outs in order to hunt down the behemoth. However, to today’s date, there has not been any real major evidence to change the opinions of the non believers of the Sasquatch. There have been small samples of hair collected over the years and photographs taken that depict giant footsteps that were found and examined, however not enough evidence has ever been classified to determine what exactly “it” is. “Approximately one hundred and thirteen separate samples ranging from hair, blood, mucus, toenail clippings, bark scrapings, saliva and skin with hair and subcutaneous tissue attached were submitted by dozens of individuals and groups from thirty-four separate hominini collection sites around North America."- Nina Golgowski, New York News.
