Valley Forge Essay- Would you stay or QUIT?
I would have wanted to quit because of all the diseases that were occurring and I wouldn't have wanted to be the one to either get sick next or die next so i'm not taking any risks. I mean would you. But with constitution on our side we could have more supplies like clothes, gunpowder, food etc. Already we have had 1,800 to 2,500 deaths due to illness that's almost half of our army.
We have to fight against not only the british but the cold harmful weather and the soldiers that are barefoot are losing toes due to frostbite, we have some soldiers that have rips and tears in their clothing and in their boots, that's not going to do them any good.9(Document C). With the smoke in our eyes that's the worst pain in the world. Back to the illness there was no cure we have to cut off what's infected so how are we supposed to fight with no limbs? and that stuff spreads too, and it spreads fast at that. The british are getting the honor of the women drooling over them called scarlet fever and we are dreading over here with no supplies. They live much better than we do. We live in huts which are made up of logs and are 16’ by 14’ with one door, no windows and a fireplace. You're sharing this with eleven other men because there are twelve men to start with in EACH hut.(Page
