The Toyota Motor Company was officially established in 1937("Toyota Global Site | History of Toyota | 1867-1939," n.d.), following years of evolution and development. Within ten years the company had produced 100,000 vehicles and was on the road to building a successful brand. “Since its foundation, Toyota has been using its guiding principles to produce reliable vehicles and sustainable development of society by employing innovative and high quality products and services. ("Toyota Global Site | Vision & Philosophy," n.d.)” Continuing with this mission the company has tried to live by the Five Main Principles of Toyota, always be faithful to your duties, thereby contributing to the company and to the overall good, always be studious and creative, striving to stay ahead of the times, always be practical and avoid frivolousness, always strive to build a homelike atmosphere at work that is warm and friendly and always have respect for spiritual matters, and remember to be grateful at all times ("Toyota Global Site | Guiding Principles," n.d.). However, in recent years the management of Toyota has strayed away from these principles.
Once revered as one of the best automakers in the industry, Toyota lead the way in innovation and technology. Its management team adhered to its principles and continued to grow the company.
