In November 11 of 1918 the German forces agreed to sign an armistice to put an end to the war.After the German surrender the Allies call upon a meeting to decide the punishment of Germany after all the damage it has done. America´s goal was to make sure this will not happen again so the president Woodrow Wilson stated 14 points to keep the world in order.
Versailles Conference
The Versailles conference was called to decide the fate of Germany after all the destruction it has caused to the European countries it attacked. The Nations that will decide were the U.S.A, Britain, France, and Italy.The main idea was to restrict Germany's army and make it pay for the damage, but the Europeans wanted to humiliate Germany. The U.S had other plans for the conference, it created 14 points to keep peace on the world.The points basically stated that the world needed international cooperation, freedom of seas, reduce worldwide armaments to the amount needed, removal of trading barriers, and the end of secret alliances. But to make these come true Wilson needed to create a League of Nations. It´s purpose was to unite all the nations and keep in line the armed conflicts.
