As a nurse, therapeutic communication skills may be our greatest tool. In which I need to become fluent in because I will have the opportunity to care for patients from all backgrounds. This is a skill I have used when engaging in conversation with many patients. I was able to build relationships based on care and trust. At all times I remained professional weather it was performing assessment or conducting extensive interviews. Being able to show patients that you care and you want nothing but the best for them is very important in building a therapeutic relationship.
