Lady Brett Ashley physical appearance is very different from that of a typical woman. She dresses differently, styles herself differently but still keeps the shape with curves like the “hull of a racing yacht” (30). However the most identifiable appearance on Brett that makes her seem more masculine is the way she combs her hair towards the back of her head like a boy. This hair and the outfit she wears at the club put it all together to form a very masculine appearance, “She wore a slip over jersey, sweater, and a tweed skirt, and her hair was combed back like a boy’s
