Stage 1: Prenatal When I was born, I was the first child to my parents, and the first grandchild to both of my parents ' parents. My mother 's pregnancy was relatively easy for her, but it still was her first pregnancy so there were difficulties. I was born at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA on November 5, 1996. When I was born I was 6 pounds 4 ounces . My mother had an epidural to relieve labor pains. Essentially my whole family was there: mom, dad, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other extended family and close friends of my parents. Since I was the first baby in the next generation of my family, many people wanted to see me and hold me. The family adjustment to me was simple because there were not any other people in the house, but it was a new experience for my mother, and especially my father who had only brothers and therefore little experience with little girls.
Stage 2: 0-2 Years As a baby, I was breast-fed because my mother believed it was healthier for her and myself as a baby. It was also economically better because my dad was in medical school at the time. I believe I will also breast-feed my children because it saves money, and it is more than likely the best thing for mother and child because that is how God made us to function. I probably would have formula after a few months so my baby could be bottle fed by people when I am not around. My mother was my primary care giver, and has been a stay at home mom since I was born.
