It was about 3:45 in the morning on a Sunday, where I found myself and my excited, wide-awake, good-looking boyfriend driving down a dark, eerie road to a hospital that was 61 miles away. Those 61 miles felt like light years to me I didn’t feel right all day today, I had a feeling deep down that my body was telling me that it was time. I was as nervous as I possibly could be, however, I had to remain completely calm because I could possibly be in labor and our first baby could arrive any time.
So There I was, just Sitting there in that fast moving car, patiently waiting for the top of my big-ole belly to become super tight, tighter than a rubber band wrapped around your stomach 1000 times. As we walk in to the Emergency section of the hospital, the building seemed to have a lot of new construction done to the outside. The siding of the building was as shiny as a new piece of tinfoil. As appealing as the outside of the hospital was, the registration area was not so appealing. The scene was one from a horror movie, where someone would be locked in a 5X5 room that seemed to be a torture chamber. The walls felt like you were in a tin can, claustrophobic and only one way out. the lights were super dim, despite one bulb that had a constant flicker, the quietness of the room also made you very cautious and alert.
Finally out of that dungeon and into the labor and delivery section of the hospital. First walking into the room, there is a sudden sigh of relief because the room is so inviting. The room had to of been a 30X30 room with chestnut colored walls, a big flat screen tv, a large hospital bed, a sage green pull out sofa and a beautiful rich mocha colored hardwood floor and a bath that had so much room you could fit 3 mini vans inside of

When we entered the building the air sent a chilling sensation down my spine, we continued down the hallway , at the end there was two swinging doors, the hallway seemed like it was a mile long. Her chest tightened as hyperventilation took hold, seizing her lungs until finally, the doors opened into an office, and she remembered to breathe again.…

Savannah The isolation room was where I spent most of my days, the walls were starch white, the bathroom was limited to a plastic shower door with a very low hanging shower head, a toilet and a mirror bolted to the wall both utilities were white and bland. There was one double paned window with a wooden ledge covered in past patients scrawlings and profanities, the window overlooked the grassy forecourt. The day I went home from Pine rest was a memorable day. It was Sunday and the sun was shining through the isolation room, making me increasingly anxious to go outside; to leave.…

The early stages of my young life were ruled and controlled by my irrational and unusually strong fears, but in my recent time span I have learned how to conquer and move past the issues tethering me down.…
