The memoir written by Rabbi Tzvi Guttman called “The Shechinah Wails in Grief” tells of the terribly painful and heartbreaking story of his experiences during the Holocaust. He is grieving over the death of his two sons who died al kiddush Hashem. He shares his sorrow of their death as well as many other Jews who were lost along with their family members. He witnessed the death of his two sons in front of his eyes. They were shot at along with many others, including Rabbi Guttman himself, but, Rabbi Guttman miraculously survived. He then fled and became a target of a second shooting attack, but again survived.

Many were separated from their families and tell the tale of how they manage to survive. They either suffered through starvation, in concentration camps under the brutality or through hiding and from traveling from one place to the next. These three memoirs have some similar characteristics to the typical Holocaust stories, but they give over another message. They give over lessons.
