The U.S. made a good decision when it decided that it wanted to use the atomic bomb. Japan was just not going to give up. Although it is admirable how hard they fought and how far they were willing to go they should’ve known when it was just time to stop. It had been a long war and it was just time for it to end. The U.S. had given Japan a chance to go for unconditional surrender but Japan refused. America even though tired wasn’t going to just give up and like any other country you have to do what it takes to protect your own before anybody else. And especially since they were the ones that started it we thought that there was peace between us and then the attack on Pearl Harbor happened. Maybe if the war had started for a different reason or motive things would have …show more content…
Another point that has been made is that there were different alternatives to get the same result. There may have been different ways but those ways may have caused more lives to have been lost and may have made it towards where we would have had to stay in the war longer. And although it may have had helped economically war is not something that anyone wants much less stay in for a long time. Its also been said that the atomic bomb was inhumane. Yes thousands of lives were taken and many suffered from the post affects of it if they didn’t die as soon as it happened but the atomic bomb was just part of the war. If any other nation had discovered it and had the atomic bomb in their possession they would have used it as well. If any other country was at the point that we were they’ve would’ve decided to go with whatever was best for their country not caring about the lives of the others that weren’t on their side. Of course nobody thinks of that because they’ve never been put in that position so many say that it was inhumane and a terrible thing because they have never gone through that. You can’t ever say that you wont do something because really you don’t know unless you’re in a life or death
