Road rage is violent anger towards another driver usually causing the harm to other motorist or pedestrians (dictionary).“Road rage incident turns into beating, woman breaks it up with gun…..road rage video shows driver crashing veteran’s motorcycle with his car…mom loses it in Hawaii road rage incident….a damaged car is seen at the scene of a fatal road rage incident…(#roadrage 1).” These are top story headlines that resulted from aggressive driving, otherwise known as road rage. Road rage is a major problem in Hawaii as it is ranked the number one road rage state in the U.S. according to Instagram posts (#roadrage 4). We need to fight this deadly epidemic by treating it very seriously and by increasing driver awareness. People need to first know what road rage is and recognize that it is a very common problem. Secondly, finding out what causes road rage and why it persists can assist in the cure. Lastly, educating ourselves on how road rage affects the people around us and the consequences that stem from it should better prepare us for it and help stop it from happening. Road rage is defined as “a motorist’s uncontrolled anger that is usually provoked by another motorist’s irritating act and is expressed in aggressive or violent behavior(webster 1).” I define road rage as getting aggravated behind the wheel and driving with no respect or regard for others.
