Sustainable Development Every year, the population of the world increases more and more and by the year 2020, the population of humans will be eight billion. How can we continuously develop the world around us to benefit our lives, while at the same time preserving natural resources and species? So far, instead of trying to preserve the environment, we as humans have been destroying it in the process of developing our world. By overreaching the sustainability of our world, we have been depleting certain species of animals and plants to extinction, increasing global warming, destroying fresh waters and using up all of the available oil. This essay will discuss these unfortunate instances by explaining how they are happening and what we can do to stop them from occurring as often. Many animals are becoming extinct or are coming close to extinction. For example, many species of tigers and gorillas are becoming endangered for various reasons. Some main reasons are the destruction of their environment and pollution. Gorillas and tigers usually live in the jungle and deforestation is a huge problem nowadays. As these forests are being depleted for wood supply, or more living space for humans and the animals that used to live there are left with nothing. Tiger and gorillas specifically, are not adapting to these rapid changes and are killed off during the process. Smaller animals can adapt better to these changes because it is easier for them to migrate to a different area;…
