There was a crisp and refreshing wind that swirled around in the air, creating a harmony in motion with the lakes bountiful waves. It was a startling summer morning in the West Virginia mountains as everything was so clear, picturesque and vibrant. The blue sky shone a bright blue, the yellow sun radiated a bright yellow, and the green lake shimmered exuberantly. Interrupting this peaceful scene were several loud splashes as young campers dove one after another erupting in excitement (and possibly an ounce of initial shock at the lakes contrast in coolness with the other elements). We; the divers, were already bursting at the seams of delight from the anticipation built canoeing up to this spot, considerably far from the shore of the lake. …show more content…
It occurs to me now that as I was young many childhood memories cradled the same warm tone.The childhood me eagerly sought adventure, joyful to learn and experience everything other children were or were just wrapping their minds around. Who can forget one of their first mobile experiences? The clumsy, wobbling first bike riding lesson within our small backyard, in which I can recant the strict law my mother instructed to me; focus on maintaining balance! Balance seemed such a difficult concept to me at the time, as I could do nothing but topple over endlessly. Or who could forget their embarrassing first play or performance of some sort? Mine was a horrible elementary school rendition of ‘I will always love you’ by Whitney Houston, practicing for days to try to remember the song, just to have a three minute bit on stage with overwhelmingly proud parents watching who didn't care whether we did right or wrong regardless. Experiences like these surrounded me, and I swelled with happiness over being able to undergo such a variety of life. It was the innocence of being a child, I was excited about everything and willing to try anything the world presented to
