The average age of diagnosis is 28, and psoriasis most commonly appears between the ages of 15 and 35; however, it can develop at any time. Around 150,000 to 260,000 new cases of psoriasis are diagnosed each year. There are many different types of Psoriasis, including: Guttate, Inverse, Pustular, and Erythrodermic. The most common form of psoriasis is Plaque psoriasis; it affects 85%–90% of people with psoriasis. Thus being the most common, this is the one I will be talking about. Symptoms of Plaque psoriasis can vary from person to person, but the most common symptom is a rash on the skin. These rashes can be very minimal but they can also be very extreme and cover very large areas of skin. The most common places these rashes will occur are on the elbows, knees, scalp, and back. However, psoriasis can develop anywhere including the nails, palms, soles, genitals and face, it is just less common. The skin can then be very dry, it can crack, and also bleed. With this, you can also experience itching, swelling, and pain. The most logical cause of this is because Psoriasis turns your skin cells into Type A overachievers, which means they grow five times faster than normal skin
