According to Cornett, educators’ understand the importance to use the arts in order to develop fun and engaging lesson plans (2015). I believe that is crucial for students to feel motivated and engage during learning. Furthermore, I believe parent involvement is the key for children success. The gift of arts is a powerful tool to share with parents about how the arts can help students to academically succeed. I chose, # 4 critical thinking, #11 Commitment/interest and #13 confidence, as the most important to share with parents as powerful reasons for teaching the arts.

And I would explain to parents that, in order to obtain the best critical thinking responses parents most engage their children on what interest them the most. I would explain to parents that, the process of critical thinking and their individual and unique child’s interest should be the emphasized through their interactions at home. In order for the parents to understand why their children interest is an important art skill. Ii would explain that, their children commitments and interest matters in the process of empowering their children to make choices. For example, I believe parents are their children experts, therefore parent’s involvement in their children education years can and will make a difference. In social studies for example, the integration of the arts can make students interested in the subject. Therefore, I would explain to parents that is important for the parents to share with me, what are their children interests. Continuing with learning about sports, I would ask parents what are their children favorite sport, team and if they currently practicing a sport. By doping this as a future educator instead of creating a broad sport theme, I would focus mainly on what the parents are sharing with me. Also, using this approach will give me more planning time, because I will know from each
