The Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost, our Helper, our Comforter, Encourage, one of the three parts of the Holy Trinity; although there are quite a few different names, He is the same spirit of God. One of the 66 life breathing books of the Holy Bible has some of the most excellent examples of what it looks like to walk by faith with the Holy Spirit. The book of Acts is the account of apostles of Christ who lived radically for the sake of the gospel, glory of God, and the salvation of everyone. They were fully obedient and fully dependent on the power of the Holy Spirit in their lives, and impacted the world by simply preaching Jesus and the Resurrection, no matter the cost.

In comparison, Chuck Smith continually encourages the reading of God’s word, even through dry seasons of life, and as Joshua 1:8 says, “This Book of the Law should not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your ways prosperous, and then you will have good success.” We are commanded to continue reading and meditating on the Bible, because it was written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit; meaning that it is completely good, completely true and completely Holy. God is not a God of magic but miracles. If an unbeliever reads the Bible he is not delving into the realm of magic but the book of life; It is through the Bible that God brings many to himself, and it is through the Bible that we are taught how to live. After explaining an former experience he had, he continued by saying this, “ This was a time when the Bible really worked for me. When all of the right ingredients were there--consistent meditation, the desire to obey, and confidence in God’s Word.” Although he is correct in the importance of meditation, obedience, and confidence in the Lord when reading the Bible, he is wrong to interpret the Bible as though it is a recipe book.
