HCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin. It is a hormone produced naturally by both sexes but more by women during their monthly cycle or during pregnancy. It is essential for keeping a growing fetus healthy. It can also be artificially created in the lab for commercial purposes. The U.S Food and Drug Administration approved it for many different medical uses. It is prescribed to women to treat infertility as it helps women 's eggs mature and get released. In the last few decades it has been used widely for weight loss treatments though there are some people who are skeptical about its use in this way.
