In the beginning of the story David Rain (The main character) moves in as a tenant to the the Pennykettles (Elizabeth/Liz and her 11 year old daughter Lucy) while he goes to College. Liz sculpts clay dragons for a living and presents one to David as a moving in gift. Throughout the story among multiple scenarios this dragon (Gadzooks) equipped with a pencil and notepad helps David answer questions and solve mysteries. The climax of the book occurs when David begins to take advantage of Gadzooks by being rude to him and not believing in the Dragon. It had a variety of different events occurring before the climax such as trying to save a squirrel, writing a novel, and David getting comfortable in his new home. I really enjoyed the very peaceful aspect of this book in the sense that it was quite realistic with all of it’s side stories. The slow progression of the main story also made the book a lot easier to read because it wasn’t really forcing the book along and it presented itself as much more subtle. Lastly, The dragons would remind the reader that they are still present as they would pop up mysteriously and affect the outcome of the
