It is clear that stress can have an effect on an individuals’ daily life especially towards youth and adults. Individuals tend to feel stress when they are overwhelmed with the amount of demands they must do such as completing an assignment at school, or taking on a huge project for their work. These specific demands can sometimes affect an individual emotionally and physically. According to Lazarus and Folkman stress is defined as “a particular relationship between the person and the environment that is appraised by the person as taxing or exceeding his or her resources and engendering his or her well-being” (McCarville, R. E., & MacKay, 2013, 92). With stress not only does it affect an individuals emotionally and physically, it can also affect an individuals surroundings such as their family members, relationships, and the environment they are in. Having said that it is clear that individuals needs to find ways of releasing stress in their daily lives. “Researchers have reported that the severity of a stressor has a significant impact on well-being, sometimes stronger than that of the actual occurrence of the stressor. Therefore, psychological recovery from severe daily stress is important to sustaining well-being” (Qian, Xinyl Lisa, Careen M. Yarnal, and David M. Almeida. 2014. 484).
