It may be surprising too many but the different effects that physical activities have on stress management in college freshmen has become a controversial topic in many universities over the past years. In the journal article “The Effect of Physical Activity on the Stress Management, Interpersonal Relationships, and Alcohol Consumption Of College Freshmen,” Simone Wilson, skillfully presents her findings in three sections. She presents her first section by briefly sharing the stylistic development of physical activity and college students, and how it forms and how it is alarming since students develop their health behaviors in college. Shortly after capturing the reader’s interest, she also highlights each paragraph of the article letting the reader now what they will be reading by providing a general topic of the paragraph. Carrying further, the articles opening informs the reader what she will be analyzing in the article. The essay style is extremely informative and uses a conversational tone in the article to convey her point. Furthermore, the article is constructed in a way of enhancing the relationship with the audience, by providing different descriptions that will draw on the reader’s attention and imagination. Hence, the imagery that Simone Wilson creates in the telling of the article captivates the reader attention and keeps them with her until the end. Thus she does this by using some statically data and other similar studies that were found by other studies done before. Equally important she makes the article more personal and generates emotion in the reader by doing so. The author establishes authority on her relied data through the years of fieldwork and documentary research to support her claims of the reinterpretations and innovations of other larger studies samples that also examined the relationship between physical activity in college students and stress management. Hence, the author’s targeted audience is those individuals interested in learning more about their stress management skills and those seeking to gain more knowledge on stress management and physical activities and interpersonal
