Learn: What stress is? What causes stress? How to deal with stress and prevent stress?
Thesis: Every college student deals with stress. Stress cannot be avoided, it is a normal part of our life. It is important to know what stress is, causes of stress and what are ways to control stress.
Introduction

I. Attention Getter: I am sure we all have experienced the feeling of sweaty hands, followed by a fasten heart rate, chest pain, an upset stomach and butterflies. Symptoms similar to a common cold. Feeling as there is not enough time to get everything done in time. Does anyone know what the feeling is? The feeling is stress.

Keeping stress under control
i. Over time, high levels of stress can lead to serious health problems. So it is important to keep stress under control. To keep stress under control it is important that we are able to identify what triggers our body to become stressed. Some causes of stress are easier to identify than others. Stress doesn’t magically disappear out of our lives, but by putting in to practice some techniques we can train our body to cope with it.[slide 6]

ii. Some way’s we can keep stress under control is by avoiding over scheduling. Getting a good night sleep. “Relaxing is a natural antidote to stress,” (kidshealth.org). Treating our body well, by exercising for 10-30 minutes. Exercising releases endorphins that boost your mood and make you feel good about yourself. Eating a healthy diet is a helpful way to prepare your body to cope with stress.

iii. Another technique is engaging socially. Which is means communicating with someone else, this makes us feel understood and safe. It is proven that it’s one of the most effective ways to overcome stress. There are many ways you can communicate with one another from face to face, to a phone call, video chat, text message or simply an email. Joining a club is also a way to communicate with others. The main purpose is to be heard and understood.[slide
