Pollution is the introduction of harmful substances or products into the environment it can cause health problems for all living organisms. Also pollution is contamination of air, water, or soil by substances that are harmful to living organisms. Pollution can also occur naturally, for example through volcanic eruption and fires. Water pollution decreases water quality which makes it harmful for people and it can’t be used drinking, irrigation, and recreation. Also it 's harmful for organism that live in water and other organisms that use water. Point source pollution is one way water can be polluted. Point source pollution is when the pollution come from one single location. Non-point pollution is another way water can be polluted. Non-point pollution is when multi pollutants in a large area end up polluting the the water. Typical you don’t where the pollution is coming from when it comes to non-point pollution. In our urban areas rainfall runoff as stormwater is one of the major nonpoint sources of pollution impacting the water quality of our waterways and bays. Stormwater from street surfaces is often contaminated with car oil, dust and the faeces of animals and soil and sediment runoff from construction sites, and in industrial areas often contains more toxicants and chemicals (EPA 2012; VIC 2012).
